Insurance

Amerijet International and its sister company I.T.N. Consolidators offer cargo insurance for domestic freight shipments.

Coverage is offered by Seven Seas Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Nicor Inc., a Fortune 1000 company.  Seven Seas exists solely to underwrite cargo coverage (learn more)… and through The Navigators Group, an international insurance holding company (learn more)….

We recommend that you purchase cargo insurance so that, if a loss occurs, the insurance can protect your financial interest.  Otherwise, any claim for lost or damaged cargo is strictly and severely limited by international treaties, U.S. Federal laws, and the shipment's contract of carriage as stated on the back of the Bill of Lading.

The insurance covers 100% of the shipment's insured value, plus an additional 10% for freight charges reimbursement. It protects cargo against "all risk" of physical loss or damage from any external cause no matter what the percentage of loss. Its terms and conditions are broad, and its rates are competitive.

Coverage begins as soon as the goods leave the shipper and/or supplier, continuing throughout transit to the final destination. Insurance remains in force for 30 days after cargo discharge or delivery, whichever occurs first. Concealed damage must be reported within three days of delivery, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Once we receive proper documentation of a claim, settlement typically occurs within 30 days.
