Amerijet International, Inc., offers cargo insurance through Seven Seas Insurance Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Nicor Inc., a Fortune 1000 company. Seven Seas exists solely to underwrite cargo coverage. We recommend that you purchase cargo insurance so that, if a loss occurs, the insurance can protect your financial interest. Otherwise, any claim for lost or damaged cargo is strictly and severely limited by international treaties, U.S. federal laws, and the shipment's contract of carriage as stated on the back of the Air Waybill. The insurance automatically covers 100% of the insured invoice value, plus 20%. It protects cargo against "all risk" of physical loss or damage from any external cause no matter what the percentage of loss, and with no deductible. Its terms and conditions are broad, and its rates are competitive. Claims service is fast and efficient because you deal directly with Amerijet, not a third party or intermediary. Coverage begins as soon as the goods leave the shipper and/or supplier, continuing throughout transit to the final destination. Insurance remains in force for 15 days after cargo discharge or delivery, whichever occurs first. Concealed damage must be reported within three days of delivery, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. For cut fresh flowers and perishables, insurance remains in force for 24 hours after cargo discharge or delivery, whichever occurs first. Once we receive proper documentation of a claim, we will work on your behalf with Seven Seas Insurance Company to settle the claim within 60 days.
